Chris Dudley for Oregon Governor in 2010

Posted: February 7th, 2010 | Author: HR | Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

Former Portland Trailblazer center Chris Dudley is running for Governor of Oregon.  I wish him well and support him fully.

From a recent editorial titled DUDLEY WILL OFFER IDEOLOGICAL OPTIONS AS GOP CANDIDATE in the more conservative East Oregonian:

In addition to a successful career on the court, Dudley more recently has been involved as a leader in the financial industry. He was named the best citizen in the National Basketball Association in 1996. The 44-year candidate is a graduate of Yale University with degrees in economics and political science. His grandfather, Guilford Dudley, was U.S. ambassador to Denmark for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. The younger Dudley is one of only six Yale grads to move on to the NBA.

Chris Dudley is not a run-of-the-political-mill insider.  He is well educated, well known, and respected in Oregon.  He comes from a family of politicians.  This may be his year, and Oregon’s too for that matter, as Oregonians increasingly get fed up with the leftists in Salem destroying Oregon’s economy and killing Oregon’s jobs.

Predicting what will be in Obama’s State of the Union

Leftist professor Obama’s credibility is so damaged at this point in time that I don’t generally pay much attention to what he says.  I’m not sure I’ll watch his State of the Union address on Wednesday because I can guess half of it, and I already know it will be full of lies.  Obama is committed to being as destructive as possible to this country while not getting impeached immediately.

He will try to come across as a moderate populist, when pretty much everyone in the US now knows he is radical Leftist.  The attempt to come across as a moderate populist will come across flat or a little bizzare because even his speech writers know that everyone else knows he is a radical Leftist.  They know they have lost the fight to cover up his radicalism.  But they will try to cover it up, and it will come across as the pretense it is.

He will want the American people to see the Republican’s applauding and giving ovations, so he will give lip service to traditional American values.  At times he will sound pro-American.  He will speak to some traditions that will require the Republicans to give approbations.  The substance behind Obama’s comments though will be hollow.

He may give a hat tip to Franklin Roosevelt and say what a great President he was and how important it is to continue Roosevelt’s path to socialism.

He will discuss some of the small spending lockdowns on the federal budget and try to spin them to make them sound as important as possible.   The entire budget needs to be locked down, not just small segments of it.  He will leave large segments of the government spending pie open ended while falsely calling for limitations.

He will discuss the mythic need for legislation that will be the starting point for socialized medicine.   The American Leftists are committed beyond the point of no return on this issue.  For political reasons they believe they must try to pass the seed that will blight the country.  A key part of socialism is putting control of healthcare into government hands.

He will speak about the efforts in Haiti and how the US and the world responded.  This will be to affect a positive tone to his address.   He will mention Haiti early in the address, and perhaps again near the end.

Obama will try to put a positive spin on manmade global warming.  He will speak positively of the hope for real results sometime in the near future, probably next year.  He will not mention the fact that the pseudo science behind AGW is being ripped to shreds on the Internet and elsewhere.  He may announce a new initiative to tilt at the AGW windmills that will cost the US billions.

He will demand more sacrifices from the American people.  Those sacrifices will cost jobs.

He will complain about unfairness in the marketplace and claim that only the federal government can level the playing field, and that is why we must implement socialist and fascist policies.  That is why people must sacrifice their jobs and homes.   In an anti-American Leftist universe, more government control of society is preferable to freedom.

He will speak of federal jobs initiatives, but those initiatives will create mostly government jobs, not real productivity jobs.  His jobs initiatives will be targeted at creating more dependence and control by the federal government.   He will give lip service to small businesses, and talk about programs to support small businesses.  But if the results of those programs are followed up they will found to be ineffective or that they give government unreasonable controls over small business.  Obama is a radical leftist professor with no experience in leadership or governance.  He hates the capitalist system and thinks it is evil, whatever he might say during the address, and he will do what he can to bring it under the control of the government, including lying through his teeth.

He will promise to tax the rich and give to the poor.  All such promises are always broken, and all citizens will be taxed and the money given to the people who are behind the tax laws.

He may speak of new initiatives.  All those initiatives will give more control to government, and take freedom away from the American people.

Obama will mention the war in Afghanistan, trying to make it sound like a good and noble cause and honor the sacrifices of the military and intelligence services, while coming across as dull and flat, and committed in words but not deeds.  He will not honor America, but instead will honor internationalization.

He will call for bipartisanship, and then turn right around and condemn the conservatives, effectively calling them stupid and irresponsible, and then asking “why can’t we all just get along” as if the conservatives are the ones calling the leftists stupid and irresponsible.

He will probably mention that America’s economic problems are not over because he knows that we are going to have a double dip recession.  He will try to set the stage for more government control in the event of ongoing economic problems, which he knows are coming.

He will push for a more internationalized America, giving more authority to international organizations. International organizations tend to be Leftist in their characters.

He may say “God bless America” or something similar, but he will only speak of the greatness of Leftist principles, not godly principles.  He will not speak of the greatness of America as envisioned by the Founding Fathers, but he will speak of the greatness of socialism and fascism.

That will cover most of professor Obama’s State of the Union address.
